How far in advance do I need to inquire? For Custom Celebration cakes we require atleast 2-3 weeks notice. For Wedding cakes The best answer to this would be as soon as you have a venue and date! We take deposits on cakes for up to 12 months in advance, and on rare occasions, with as little as four weeks notice. The sweet spot to reach out and get the conversation rolling, is about 5 months out from your big day!
Do you duplicate cake designs? Every cake designer has their own style. I will do my best to duplicate a cake to the best of my ability but you must understand everyone has their own touch and skill level
Do you require a deposit? You have the option of locking in your order with either a 50% deposit or full payment. Our availability on your date is not secured until a deposit is received. All deposits are strictly non-refundable.
Why are Custom Cakes so costly? The materials and ingredients can be expensive. If you consider the costs of boards between tiers, board coverings, dowels as well as the costs of fondant, cake ingredients, and the most important and often undervalued - time itself. There can be hours of preparation that go into the cake well before you see the finished product - materials, creating icings, setting up boards etc.
Do you bake from scratch? We sure do! Everything is made by us, using the best quality ingredients we can get our little hands on!
Do you make eggless/gluten free/ dairy free/allergen free/ vegans cakes? Unfortunately our kitchen is not allergen free and we don’t offer eggless cakes, and We do not currently offer any dairy free/ allergen free or vegan flavour options, sorry!
When should I order my wedding cake? Anytime between 6 and 3 months before the wedding is best.
Do you offer cake tastings? Yes Absolutely! We offer a tasting box for $50. You can choose up to 4 cake flavor and 8 flavour/fillings from our flavor menu. To order a box, fill out the order form and we can have it ready for you in 2 weeks.
Do you deliver? When should you deliver? And do you set up? How does that work? Yes, we are able to deliver wedding orders and take care of whatever setup is required! We typically like to deliver a few hours before the wedding, once the linens are on, the table is set up, and the florals are available to place on the cake (if that applies to you.) There is a minimum delivery fee of $60.
Can my florist decorate the cake with flowers? Yes and no! We do not allow anyone else to prepare or place florals on our cakes, as it can pose a food safety risk if done incorrectly. Additionally, these finishing touches are often the entirety of the cake design, and something we really pride ourselves on as cake designers… not just bakers! For the large majority of cakes that leave our studio, we source the florals ourselves, using floral inspiration images and descriptions to match them to your venue florals as closely as possible. Having said that, if you would like your florist to supply the flowers for your cake, so that they match 100%, we can accomodate this as well.
Do you offer any other type of dessert? We only offer cakes, cupcakes, cakesicles and cakepops as of this time.
Am I able to book with you before I know exactly what I’m after? Yes, Absolutely! We cant hold our availability on any date for anyone without a deposit. Therefore, if you are waiting to secure our availability until you know exactly what you would like, you may risk us booking out on the date of your event.
